We are proud of The Globe Hotel's interesting and colourful past and have lovingly ensured that the décor and atmosphere of the building remains true to the heritage, whilst equipping it to handle the requirements of modern travellers.

When you wake in this peaceful area, it will be to the hearty and inviting breakfast in our restaurant. We serve food throughout the day and will happily cater to children, vegetarians and most dietary requirements, just let us know and we will do our best. There is also an excellent selection of wines and cask ales that are recommended by any who try them.

Dining/Drinking

The restaurant and bar are open every day from 12 noon, for food and drink. We have an enviable reputation for our superb cask ales and a full range of beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks to choose from. David & Sharon create an atmosphere that is friendly, warm, welcoming and fun.

For diners, we offer a menu of diverse choices that will satisfy all in your party. As an example, you may wish to start with chicken liver pate with Bramley apple jelly and toasted brown bread, or salmon and prawn fishcake with sweet and sour dip, or perhaps a warming bowl of our soup of the day. To follow, you could enjoy traditional fish and chips, steak and red wine pie, Cumberland pork sausages, Cajun chicken breast, steak cooked just the way you like it, or perhaps mushroom stroganoff or homemade cheese and onion pie. If you just fancy a snack, we have a range of baguettes, salads, jacket potatoes and sandwiches to choose from. For dessert, our apple and blackberry flapjack crumble is very popular, or sticky toffee pudding, or perhaps a selection of cheeses.

For children, we offer a choice of egg and chips, pizza, chicken nuggets, jumbo sausages or a carvery choice. On Sundays, we provide a choice of succulent meats, fresh vegetables and potatoes.

Accommodation

Our luxurious four poster room is a glorious feature that is the epitome of comfort and pleasure, with all the facilities you would expect. Our five other well furnished rooms, also have private bathrooms, remote controlled TV, direct dial telephones, trouser presses, radio alarms and tea & coffee making facilities. Our accommodation is available on short or long term occupancy.

All rates include bed & breakfast. Prices include VAT at current rate and are subject to change. Please check for latest prices and availability. Longer term residents may be entitled to lower rates, please do call to discuss your specific needs.
